Rev. Dr. David K. Allen is an ordained Itinerate Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He is presently the senior Pastor of Bethel Tabernacle AME Church in Brooklyn NY.  Rev. Allen was assigned to Bethel Tabernacle AME in June of 2018 by the Presiding Prelate of the first Episcopal District Conference Bishop Gerald G.M Ingram. Prior to arriving at Bethel Tabernacle AME, Dr. Allen served as the Pastor of Bethel AME (Arverne) in Arverne, Far Rockaway, NY.

Dr. David Allen was born and raised in St. John’s Antigua. After serving five years in the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda as an undercover detective in the Narcotics department, Dr. Allen came to the United States to continue his education. He attended Metropolitan College of New York, where he attained his bachelor’s in business administration in 2003 and graduated with honors. In continuing his studies, Dr. Allen attended the Alliance Theological Seminary and graduated with honors with a degree of Master of Divinity in 2013 and his Doctoral Degree in Church and Community Development at Drew University in May of 2017. Dr. Allen has also worked for many well-known corporations as an executive and operations manager including, Coach, Kenneth Cole, L’Oréal USA, and J.P. Morgan Chase where he worked for nine years as a Private Client Banker.

On an annual basis Dr. Allen partners with various denominations as a committee board member and a delegate to their annual men and women’s retreats. His passion is to preach the Word of God plainly where lives are transformed holistically to build the Kingdom of God.  Additionally, with a passion for Spiritual growth and discipleship, Dr. Allen has facilitated monthly leadership meetings and retreat groups in Long Island, Queens and at Alliance Theological Seminary to facilitate growth and leadership for churches and individuals.  He is also the New and Old Testament instructor for the Evangelist and Admissions classes at the AME Ministerial Institute in Flushing.

Dr. Allen is the founder of DavidKelvin Inc, a personal development company that helps employees of large and small firms with public speaking skills, sales strategies, Financial and goal planning, and creative strategies for Community Public Relations.

Dr. David Allen is a professionally Trained Coach in Personal and Business Development, Human Behavior, and mental and Cognitive therapeutic conversations.  He is also a certified practitioner of Rapid Resolution Therapy Techniques, developed by Dr. Jon Connelly which is an enhanced form of Therapy that reduces recovery time for persons experiencing anxiety, depression, and extreme trauma.  He uses his training and experience to help individuals and employees within firms to strengthen their professional and personal life goals. Additionally, Rev. Allen serves a marriage counselor and an advisor for many families across the USA.

Presently, while active in church and community, Dr. Allen is a community partner with various precincts in helping youth at risks and in bridging the gap between NYPD and their communities.  Additionally, he serves as a Marshall for the New York and Pennsylvania conference meetings at the First Episcopal District and for the New York Annual Conference. Dr. David Allen Lives in Brooklyn with his Family. His vision for ministry is to see men and women live a wholesome life by making effective decisions in serving God.
